Plan your next Orcs Must Die! Unchained session
The following exercises let you explore five core systems—trap design, hero‑ability synergy, mode tactics, reward acquisition, and upgrade impact—so you can refine your approach in both cooperative and competitive play.
01 / THE GUIDE
Trap Synergy Drill
Place a basic trap line and add an elemental trap beside it. Observe how the combination changes damage output, then adjust positions to maximize chain reactions.
- Experiment with trap combos that trigger elemental reactions for higher damage.
- Upgrade frequently used traps first, as the game lets players unlock traps and then upgrade them to be even deadlier.
02 / THE GUIDE
Hero‑Trap Pairing
Select a hero whose ability slows enemies. Pair that hero with a damage‑over‑time trap and note the difference in kill count compared with using the trap alone.
- Experiment with different hero abilities alongside traps, as heroes offer a plethora of creative ways to stop orcs.
- Try various heroes on the same map to discover unexpected interactions.

03 / THE GUIDE
Sabotage Disruption Test
During a Sabotage match, send a boss into the opposing map early. Measure the effect on the opponent’s rift points versus using only spells.
- In Sabotage, use spells, minions, or bosses early to challenge the opponent’s defenses, as the mode lets teams troll each other with such elements.
- Complete Daily Quests to obtain specific traps that can strengthen your Survival strategy.
04 / THE GUIDE
Challenge Farming Routine
Complete a series of Daily Quests that reward a specific trap type. Track how quickly that trap reaches higher upgrade levels across multiple sessions.
- Focus on challenges that reward the trap types you use most often.
- Upgrade parts as you acquire them to improve trap strength, matching the game's increasing wave difficulty.
05 / THE GUIDE
Endless Upgrade Scaling
Play Endless mode with a minimal trap setup, then add upgrades each wave. Compare how long you survive to gauge each upgrade’s impact.
- Check the settings to see which actions are supported by the partial controller input.
- Link your Steam account to track achievements across sessions.
