Plan your next AMID EVIL session
This companion guide goes beyond the basics with self-directed exercises for Amid Evil. Each one asks you to observe a documented system in action and draw your own conclusions, helping you get more from the episodes, weapons, AI, and level design without any hidden shortcuts.
01 / THE GUIDE
Episode Variety
Play a stretch of two different episodes back to back and compare their settings and enemy designs. Note how each backdrop changes your tactical habits and whether particular weapons feel stronger in certain environments.
- Explore side paths and dead ends; secrets are often tucked away from the obvious route.
- Look for environmental hints of ancient lore to guide you toward hidden areas.
02 / THE GUIDE
Weapon Overcharging
Pick one magical weapon and use its overcharged state against a wave of standard enemies. Compare the results with the uncharged version, then repeat with another weapon to see which overcharge best matches your combat rhythm.
- Bank souls before a tough fight so you can unleash an overcharged weapon when it matters.
- Try each weapon's overcharged state to learn which ones fit your playstyle.

03 / THE GUIDE
AI Adaptation
Fight the same enemy type in an open area and then in a confined space. Watch how the pursuit changes between the two, and adjust your movement to exploit the difference.
- Keep moving so pursuing enemies cannot pin you down.
- Remember threats can come from the air and water as well as the ground; watch all around you.
04 / THE GUIDE
Level Exploration
Choose one level and identify three separate routes toward your objective. Track how many secrets each route reveals and decide whether the extra exploration time is worth it for your goals.
- Try alternate routes to an objective; a longer path may reveal more secrets.
- Revisit areas you have already cleared with fresh eyes to catch what you missed.
05 / THE GUIDE
Graphics Settings
Toggle ray tracing and DLSS 2.0 one at a time while watching your frame rate. Weigh the visual gains against the performance cost to settle on the balance that suits your system.
- If your hardware supports it, try DLSS 2.0 to balance image quality and performance.
- Browse the in-game options early; cheat codes and settings let you shape the experience to your liking.
